After the movie, they will write a descriptive paragraph using their T-chart detailing what they saw and heard to share with the class.


Students fill in the first portion of the self-assessment: Did my sentences accurately describe the action on the screen? Did I use descriptive words and phrases in my sentences?


The teacher will tell the class that they are going to watch the same scene as before from The Lion King but this time they will watch it with descriptive text added to the video that provides a verbal narrative of the actions in the movie.


Students will design another T-chart, labeling each item that they see and hear. After viewing the second version, the students will be given 5 minutes to write another descriptive paragraph, using their T-chart detailing what they saw in the scene.
